Annual Fete for Cobar's Aged Care Facility

The Lilliane Brady Village Fete will be on Saturday 9th September
starting at 10am at the Lilliane Brady Village - 2 Nullamutt Street, Cobar. 

With plants and books available for purchase, raffles, lucky dips.
Plus soft drinks, BBQ, 
cake and chocolate stalls.



Australian Red Cross | CPR Courses

Australian Red Cross has organised 19 CPR courses to be held in Dubbo during September. 

The courses are being run every Monday and Wednesday night from 6pm and twice on Saturdays at 8:30am and 1pm.

Be prepared and book into an Australian Red Cross CPR course, or refresher course.

Australian Red Cross Blood Service News

Next week Dubbo blood centre is 30+ donations short of what is needed to support patients in need. It is vital these appointments are filled to ensure supplies. 

Wednesday, Thursday and Friday are days of particular concern.

Cancer Council's Daffodil Day - Friday 25 August 2017

Cancer Council encourages the community to show support for someone they know affected by cancer by volunteering their time as volunteers for Daffodil day on Friday, 25 August 2017.

As a volunteer you have an important role in selling fresh daffodils and cancer council merchandise at the local Daffodil Day stall.

If you cant volunteer, you can still buy and wear a daffodil pin, visit a Daffodil Day site or donate online.

By supporting Cancer Councils Daffodil Day, the community will contribute towards a brighter, cancer-free future.

Dubbo & District Preschool Family Fun Fair

Come down to Daphne Park located corner of Bultje and Strickland Street, next to the Preschool on Saturday the 2nd of September for Dubbo and District Preschool's Family Fun Fair. Starting at 11AM til 3PM. 

The day will include a range of activities such as jumping castle, face painting, family photo booth, children's craft, pony rides, cow pat bingo, chocolate wheel, mini train rides market stalls, BBQ lunch and more!

Last minute affordable gifts for fathers day. Including gifts kids can make for Dad on the day!

Dubbo Farmers Markets | 1st & 3rd Saturday of the Month

On the 1st and 3rd Saturday of each month - rain, hail or shine locals and visitors alike get together to enjoy and appreciate the feast of fresher, tastier produce from your local producers. 


Held from 8 am to 12 noon on the lawn of the home of the Dubbo Farmers Market, The Macquarie Lions Park, situated behind the Visitor Information Centre on the corner of Newell Highway and Macquarie Street, Dubbo. 

The markets offer a range of seasonal fresh produce, fresh fruit and vegetables, herbs and plants. 

There is also fresh bread, a selection of local pork, beef and lamb, award winning olive oils, preserves, jams, marinates honey, wine, nuts and so much more. 

Enjoy our fresh breakfast and coffee options with family and friends before you start exploring the regional produce, sampling and taking home all the goodies you will need to prepare your own gourmet dishes at home.



Dubbo Parkinson's Support Group

Meets at the David Palmer Centre, Old Lourdes Hospital. 

On the first Friday of each month at 10:30am.

People with Parkinson's and their carers are welcome.

Dubbo Stroke Support Group

The next monthly get-together of the Dubbo Stroke Support Group will be held on Wednesday 6th September, 2017. At the Western Plains Cultural Centre, Wingewarra Street, Dubbo.

From 10am to 12noon.

People affected by stroke, their family, cares and friends are welcome.

National Police Remembrance Day

On Friday 29th September commencing at 11am a National Police Remembrance Day service will be held within Saint Brigid's Catholic Church, Brisbane Street, Dubbo.

Morning Tea will be served from 10:30am

All citizens are invited to join with retired and serving Police Officers at the Service.

Orana Gardens Retirement Village Annual Spring Fair

Our Annual Spring Fair commences 12.30pm on Saturday 23 September at 12.30pm
at the Village's Country Club, 2 Charles Crescent, Dubbo. 

Our trading table includes home cooked slices, cakes, jams, craft and gift items. 
In addition, there are other tables featuring jewellery, candles, soaps, scarves, 
hats plus a wool spinning demonstration with home-made woollen garments for sale. 

As well as afternoon tea there is a humorous musical skit performed by our ladies. 

Entry is $10 for adults, $5 for students.

Salvation Army - Tax Help

With Tax returns now due, it's a good time to take advantage of the Tax Help service available through the Australian Tax Office.

Tax Help is staffed by Volunteers and in Dubbo that includes the Salvation Army.

If you earned less than $60,000 last Financial Year you may qualify for this free and confidential service.

Tax Help appointments are available in Dubbo on July 28th, August 11th and August 25th.

Bookings are essential and places are limited.
